Birthday Season

In my family the season for birthdays is nearing. This is the first year that I am on top of things and have a birthday card ready before the next birthday. It was so fast and simple to do.

I took a 6 X 6 piece of paper and folded it in half.

Then I tore another paper to go along the bottom. Inked that with red them adhered it to the filded paper.

I stamped Happy Birthday on it and added a flower. SOOOO SIMPLE. Usually I make things more complicated than they need to be. YEAH ME!!!

Happy Birthday!!!

My $205.50 Swimming Pool Adventure

The other day we all decided to take Madi swimming. There was a bunch of us, Kathy, Amanda, Quortnie, Stephanie, Darin, Madi and I. Well everyone knows that I keep my iPhone in the girls...(in my bra for those of you who are a little slow).

On my way to pick everyone up I kept telling each person "Ok now, I can't forget to get my phone out before we get in the pool." I bet I said that no less than 10 times.

So we get to the pool and get all of our gear ready, towels out on the lawn, chairs set up, madi sunscreen on, cover up on and a way we go. So we walk out into the pool and it is a little cold at first but if you dunk in really fast then it warms up. So I dunk in and i bet I was in there for about 5-7 minutes before I realized OH SHIT!!! It just dawned on me that I didn't get my phone out of the girls. It was still in the girls and they were under water. There was nothing I could do at that point so I just said oh well maybe it will dry out.

We had a blast swimming!!! Even if it did cost me $205.50.

Swimming - $5.50

New iPhone - $200.00

Spending time with those I adore - Priceless

Thanks VISA!!!

That's AMAZING MOM!

This weekend we took Madi downtown on the train (Trax for those of you in Utah) because she has been begging us to take her down there everytime she sees a train. Now Dad doesn't like to ride Trax because one time he was on his way to a Jazz game and the Trax train broke down and he didn't make it to the game till 3rd quarter. He also says there are too many freaks on the train. I say what the hell..it's a night out and I get to do a lot of people watching (which I love to do...but who doesn't).

So we get on the train and Madi is loving it. She thinks she is in heaven. When we get a little close to town she startes noticing that the buildings are getting taller and taller. All of a sudden we get to this really tall building and she looks it up and down and out of her cute little mouth comes...

"Mama, That's AMAZING!"

I have no idea where that came from but she thought those buildings were AMAZING.

I absolutely LOVE watching her grow and wonder what is going on inside her cute little head. You never know whats coming out of her next...I'll keep you posted.

Cow Pies - Mom not doing her job!

Across the street from my mom's house is a field with 4 cute baby cows. These little things are so cute you want to take one home with you. Madi the other day noticed that when they poop it gets all over their tail, bums and down their leg. Well this just really grossed her out and she proceeds to tell my mom "Bonna (Grandma) the cows mom needs to wipe their bums." My mom says "The cows mom needs to wipe their bums?" and Madi says with a really disgusted look on her face "Ya, wipe their bums."

So a couple of days go by and my mom was watching Madi. My Uncle Jim came over and was visiting with my mom and out of the blue Madi came from the other room with 4 diapers and the wipes and headed for the front door. My mom said "Madi, where are you going?" and she said "I'm going to go wipe the cows bums and put on their diapers!" She took it upon herself to go out and clean up the cows bums because their mom wasn't doing a very good job of it.

I just love wondering what is going through Madi's head at any given moment. She is so cleaver and comes up with the darnedest things. I absolutely LOVE being her mom.

Uppie, Uppie - Kids say the darndest things!

So the other day my adorable little girl Madison who is 2 1/2 years old walked in on me getting dressed. At that point I was putting my bra on.

She looked at me and asked "Mama, what you doing?"

I said "I'm putting my bra on."

She looked with gazing eyes and said " You putting your bra on?"

I said "Ya."

She was watching me very intensely and was taking it all in. Just as I was pulling the straps up these cute little words came out of her cute little mouth..."Oh...Uppie, Uppie!" It wes as if she just got it...the bra puts the boobies up so their not a saggin. I was laughing so hard and said "Ya, I guess it puts them uppie uppie."

My 2 1/2 year old just pointed out the fact that my boobs were a saggin and it totally made my day. I must have one powerful bra. Thanks Madi for giving me a reality check every once and a while. Love ya girl!
